Hail vs Solar - Solar in Regina and Saskatchewan

June 24, 2019

When speaking with customers the topic comes up due to our unpredictable weather we receive here in Saskatchewan. "How do solar panels hold up to Hail"?

A solar module or panel that is installed properly should never break from hail. In fact, you may need to have us remove (and later re-install) your solar system so roofers can re-shingle a roof that was hail damaged.

Quality Solar panels that are CSA and ELC rated will have independent impact laboratory test performed. They have a tempered glass covering that will hold up to the harshest tests and weather conditions we receive in Saskatchewan.

Watch below as a solar panel is hit with a "hard ball"  size of hail at 120 km/hr.
